Jim Macgregor had another successful spring with his Elan 40 ‘Flair IV’ using Sanders Sails. It began in style at the Parkstone Regatta where Jim with his crew of family and friends finished 1st in Class 1 winning the beautiful and historic ‘Britannia Cup’. The cup dates back to 1924 and winners such as Sir Thomas Lipton in the famous J-class ‘Endeavour’. Flair IV then finished a respectable second in group at the JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race. Jim’s big news for 2007 however has been the arrival of his new Elan 410 in June. Again powered by Sanders Sails, Premier Flair has a fantastic first season. After getting to grips with her at Cowes week and finishing in the top 10 in class 3 she went on to win class 2 at The Little Britain Cup in September. The Flair crew have ended the season as they began, in style winning class 1 at the Hamble winter series with a race to spare counting five firsts and one second. We wish Premier Flair good luck for 2008 where they hope to go out and dominate the Warsash Spring Series and stamp their name on a place in the English Commodores Cup Team.
